POPS Comic, including a team of artists and professionals, has recently shared their knowledge and experience with students at the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS) in Hanoi.
This initiative is part of a larger project aimed at promoting the French language and culture, jointly by the Embassy of France in Hanoi and ULIS.
This collaboration between POPS Comic and ULIS is an excellent opportunity for students to learn from experienced professionals and to develop their skills in the field of comics.
During the online workshop, POPS Comic provided an overview of the comic industry in Vietnam, including the production processes involved, as well as feedback on the script and drawings of student groups. The presentation was short, simple, and easily understood, allowing students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
POPS Comic Manager Cao Thanh Tu said: “By participating in this comic creation project, students will gain a deeper understanding of the creative process behind making comics, from generating ideas to writing scripts and developing foundational skills in drawing.”
“I think each student will have the opportunity to explore and focus on the aspects that interest them the most, whether script writing or drawing. Our collaborative approach aims to provide a comprehensive learning experience that caters to the diverse interests and needs of all students involved,” Ms Tu said.
Following the workshop, POPS Comic has continued to work closely with students, providing feedback and assistance to help them finish their final projects.
Since its launch in late 2019, POPS Comic has provided hundreds of famous copyrighted stories from leading authors in Vietnam, world-class studios and the POPS Bonus program – a program to support Vietnamese comic artists and authors.
