Content is key to the survival and growth of the OTT platforms which we at POPS are focusing on building (including POPS app and POPS Kids app). We are looking for a high-caliber profile who will take on a very important responsibility to manage all aspects of content development for the platform. The scope will be mainly around these areas:

  • Content strategy & team management:
    • Working along side the Head of Content & Programming (HCP) to create content strategy and translate them into actionable content projects.
    • Identifying key content projects to acquire / produce / invest
    • Aligning with different business units within POPS to have a centralized vision & plan for the whole platform
    • Managing a team of content & programming executives to handle content operations on the app
  • Content budget & P&L
    • Working with Marketing on forecasting performance of each content projects
    • Support HCP on the P&L process of each content project with Finance team
  • Original content production:
    • Coordinating with POPcorn Studio on in-house original content production, or collaborate with external partners on co-production projects
    • Supporting Artist partnership team to find new partners and bring back potential projects for POPS original content
    • Working with Marketing team on the promotion of these contents, and B2B team to seek sponsorship for these productions via proposal preparation and production follow-up
  • Content performance:
    • Monitoring closely the performance of the contents (view, retention, etc.) and continuously devising plan to tackle performance issue and improve performance to hit KPI target (view, watchtime, retention, revenue etc.)
  • Content programming:
    • Managing the publishing calendar of all contents and the overall presentation of all contents on the platform, ensuring maximum visibility for the key content.
    • Ensuring every piece of content is properly QCed (by Operations team) before it is uploaded on the apps
    • Monitoring the performance of content layout, and devise A/B testing plan to generate best practice on content layout
    • Advising Product team on content-related app features, and data team on content personalization mechanics / algorithm or any related projects
  • Market research & competitor monitoring
    • Researching and get the latest updates on different content trend for POPS’ targeted audience
    • Monitoring competitors’ new content release and other activities
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree from a recognizable university
  • Excellent English, both verbally & written.
  • At least 8 years of experiences in content-related management roles. Experience working with major content platform / distributor / production house will be a plus
  • Experience working with an established / emerging tech-company is also a plus
  • Having the necessary network and contacts with potential content partners
  • Having a deep understanding of content and each type of content appeals to the audience
  • Being very passionate about content and digital media platform
  • Being highly logical & structured in thoughts and communication
  • Being able to read and comprehend insights from data and make data-driven decisions
  • Being able to manage relationships with multiple partners
